A tea which you need the most – Holy Basil Tea

You might have heard a lot about the different varities of tea available in the world wide. From Hearbal, lemon, ginger, rosemary, chamomile to milk tea, everyone have something to get delighted.

And we as an Indian, have uncountable varieties and tastes of tea here. Even, we have different teas from different region. Like Asssam Tea, Darjeeling Tea, Sikkim Tea, Kahwa, Kangra Tea etc.

But there are curtain ingredients which have certain kind of medicinal properties and empact that when they all come together, they become so effective that people use to have it as a medicine.

Here, I am going to share a very old and traditional recipe of tea. This is a irrepeasable home remedy for fever, nose blocking, cough, cold, body pain, headache, flu, sore throat and many more.

So, without any further delay, let’s get straight into the recipe.

Take 1 and half cup of water in a saucepan on flame.

Add 1 and half tbsp of Sugar (Cheeni), 2 pinch of Black Salt (kala namak), 2 pinch of Carrom Saads (ajwain) in to it.

Now, crush half inch of Fresh Ginger (adrak), 4-5 Black pepper (kaali mirch), 2 Cloves (laung) and a hand ful of Holy Basil Leaves (tulsi ke patte). And add it too into the saucepan.

Cover the saucepan with a lid and let it boil for good 7-8 minutes.

After 7-8 mins. turn off the flame. Now, open the lid and squeeze half of a lemon into it.

Stir and strain the tea in a cup and enjoy it hot.

NOTE – You can also replace sugar with honey. Just skip sugar at the beginning, and add honey at the time of adding lemon into the tea.

Now, let’s know more about the benefit of this tea by knowing the properties of the ingredients that goes in to it.

5. Carrom Seeds (Ajwain)

These seeds contain Thymol, which have antimicrobial properties and may help relive respiratory issues. It not only can be helpful in caugh and cold, but also for congestion and asthma symptoms.
