Sometimes, food science can be a little tricky. We all know that we should avoid junk foods, but what about some common mistakes (Bad Food Combinations) we do in our daily life.
Most of the time, we avoid to understand food’s nature we are having. We think if we are having homemade or healthy foods, fruits and vegetables, that would be enough to have a good health, then you might be wrong actually.
Sometimes, we invite problems to our health, by having two good foods at a time, but in a wrong combination. And sometimes these food combinations can not only be wrong but at the same time they can be dangerous too.

Cereal and Juice
Concentrates And Acids In Orange Juice Destroy The Enzyme That Is Responsible For Digesting Starches Present In Cereal, Making It A Bad Combination To Have.
Olive oil and Nuts
Fat contained in Olive Oil and Protein in Nuts, do not mix with each other, preventing the protein to be digested easily.
Yogurt and Fruits
When Yogurt which is high in protein, consumed with fruits which are acidic, it diminishes digestive fibers. It also produce toxins, and sometimes it lead to some allergies, constipation and sinus too.
Meat and Potatoes
Meat is high in protein and potatoes are all carbohydrates. When cooked together they lose their individual nutrient value, and can cause gas, acidity and flatulence.
Banana and Milk
Both banana and milk makes a heavy meal together, thus slows down the process of digestion. Which leads to bloating, heaviness and nausea too.
Apple Juice with Allergy Medicines
Apple juice, appear to inhibit OATPs, which aid in drug absorption. OATP inhibition results in reduced absorption and potentially decreased serum levels of drugs transported by OATP.
Cucumber and Tomato
Since, tomato and cucumber have different digestion time, they should not be consumed together. As soon as they reach in our stomach, they start fermenting. Which leads to abdominal cavity along with numerous digestive problems.
Holy Basil and Milk
According to Ayurveda Milk and Holy basil are incompatible with each other.
Tea and Milk
Adding milk to your tea can completely negate all the benefits of tea. Tea has potent antioxidants catechins and epicatechins. But adding milk cuts down the amount of these antioxidants making this otherwise healthy drink a source of inflammation and acidity.
Fruits just after meal
Eating fruits after meal is not a great idea. As nutrients may not be absorbed properly either, making it hard to digest. Take a gap of at least 30 minutes or 1 hour in between having meal and fruits.
We must take care of what we eat for better Health. However, eating a bad combination occasionally usually does not upset the digestion too much.
