Indigestion or you can say Dyspepsia may be caused by stomach acid coming into contact with the sensitive, protective lining of the digestive system. The stomach acid breaks down the lining, leading to irritation and inflammation, which can be painful.
Symptoms of Indigestion :
Indigestion is not a disease. But, It’s a group of symptoms like, discomfort or burning in your upper abdomen, heartburn, belching, bloating, nausea or vomiting. Also you may feel full too quickly after starting to eat or discomfort or pain in upper abdomen just after eating food.
Causes :
Some of the common causes are :
- Over eating
- Too much coffee or alcohol

- Do not take bath just after having your food. Because when we eat something, our body’s temperature rise in order to digest the food. On the contrary, if we take bath, it decreases our body’s temperature, making it difficult for it to digest the food eaten.
2. Do not drink water just after having your meal, as water dampens the digestive fire, which leads to improper digestion of food. It also create toxins in our body. According to Ayurveda, drinking water just after having your meal, is compared to poison even.

4. Avoid having all purpose flour, ajinomoto, deep fried foods, or any kind of fast foods to improve your digestion.
5. Eat your food as much fresh as you can. Fresh foods get easily digested, rather than the food which is prepared 1 to 2 days ago, and refrigerated.
6. Try to not to be stressed out, as our brain gut is strongly connected to our digestive system of body. Give yourself some break and try to be calm.
7. Try to have your food on time. Irregular food timings, skipping breakfast, late dinners, midnight munching are becoming common food habits these days. As a result, our body fails to secrete the digestive enzymes.
8. Chew food properly, so that it can be easier for our digestive system to digest the food. Whenever you don’t chew food properly, our digestive system has to work harder to digest the food. So, to stay energetic, as well as to have a fit digestive system you need to chew your food properly.
9. Subsequently, keep changing the grains you are having. Don’t have one same kind of food each & every day. Keep changing your food, to get stronger digestive system.

13. Chew a small piece of ginger with rock salt before meals, as it instantly fires up the digestive system.
14. Moreover, have fennel seeds after each meal to speed up your digestion.
